  • CAC Parent Representative Update

We are very excited to announce that we have received two applications for the CAC Parent Representative position, namely Michelle Kiefer and Kimberly Owens. In order to allow adequate time for the voting process, we will hold the CAC election in August, when we return to school.

Mrs. Katey Albert -

In 2014 I started my first year as a licensed teacher right here at CMP-Capitol Campus in the Coloma Classroom.  Prior to CMP, I studied at CSU Fresno and CSU Sacramento- receiving a BA in Government Studies.  After college, I shortly worked as a marketing coordinator while I concurrently followed my passion of working towards becoming a teacher.  I received my Multi-Subject California Teaching Credential through CSU Fresno- CalStateTeach Program in 2014.

In addition to teaching I dedicate myself to competitive bowling and advising a sorority at CSU Sacramento.  Along with these passions, my husband and I were recently blessed with our daughter, Lucy.

CMP has truly become my second family and I always look forward to furthering my relationships with CMP families as well as meeting new faces that each new year brings!

Mrs. Shannon Schmidt -

Working with children in varying capacities has been the focus of my entire adult career. While completing my degree in Human Development at UC Davis, I worked in after school care for the 4th "R". Next, I spent several years working in a preschool while rearing my first daughter (who is now 16!) and completing my teaching credential at CSUS. Then, I went on to teach 9-12 at our Elk Grove campus for 3 years, left for 6 years to be home with my second daughter and run my own in-home daycare, and have now begun my 3rd year at the Capitol campus in the 9-12 program. My passions include yoga, mindfulness, and my family. I am delighted to have returned to CMP and am loving  the community I have found here for both myself and my younger daughter.
