We are very excited to announce that we have received two applications for the CAC Parent Representative position, namely Michelle Kiefer and Kimberly Owens. In order to allow adequate time for the voting process, we will hold the CAC election in August, when we return to school.
Hi, my name is Kathleen Mosunic. I am excited to be one of your 9-12 teachers for the 2016-2017 school year! This will be my 7th year at CMP and 5th year with Mrs. Driskill in the Eureka room. I have a Child Development Bachelors and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from Sac State. I am currently enrolled in The Montessori Training Center for my 6-12 Montessori certificate. My husband and I have a 21 month old baby girl, who keeps me busy outside the classroom. We enjoy traveling together especially to the beach. I am excited to make this the best school year yet! I love to hear from parents throughout the year. Please always contact me with questions or concerns.
Mrs. Melanie Driskill -
I'm excited to teach in my neighborhood at the Capitol Campus where my daughter attends. You may see us as the Cabana Club or walking our dog around school.
I've had a passion for Montessori education since I started teaching in 1999. I feel lucky to have a co-teacher I can call one of my closest friends. Mrs. Mosunic and I have taught together for 5 years, and we have a fun and loving classroom environment that's contagious. I love teaching Montessori because I am able to structure lessons where the students get excited about learning. If you come by our class, you will see students building complex mathematical equations and creating sentences to diagram with colorful shapes.
I earned my my Bachelors in Liberal Studies from CSUS, my credential from National University, my 6-12 Montessori certificate, and my Master's in Education--where I focused on Montessori and Common Core. I am determined to make the Common Core State Standards attainable for our students.
