We are very excited to announce that we have received two applications for the CAC Parent Representative position, namely Michelle Kiefer and Kimberly Owens. In order to allow adequate time for the voting process, we will hold the CAC election in August, when we return to school.
My name is Kelsey Nightingale and this will be my second year as the teacher of the Garibaldi class! I was raised in Frostburg, Maryland, but have been living happily with my fiancé and two dogs for three years in California. I graduated from Frostburg State University with a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood/ Elementary Education. Since graduation, I have worked and learned a great deal about education and have found love with the Montessori curriculum. This summer I completed the 6-9 Montessori Training and the California Credentialing program. I love working at CMP and am eager to continue my growth and knowledge of teaching. My excitement for the upcoming year is growing daily. When I'm not at school I enjoy working on ideas for my classroom and students because I am truly passionate about teaching. I do enjoy taking a break and spending time with my family and friends, hiking, and traveling. In the classroom, I like to incorporate some of my interests by having a lot of movement, fun science experiments, and creative crafts! I am so excited and truly looking forward to another year using the amazing Montessori curriculum!

I was born and brought up in the northern part of India. After getting married to my wonderful husband, I moved to the Bay Area. I have two children, both of whom are attending university now. When I moved to the Bay Area, I got a chance to visit a Montessori school. It was impressive to see the classroom set up in a way that easily accessible for all and any child. I also loved the closeness of the teachers and students and felt that this concept of teaching was quite inspiring. Right at that moment, I fell in love with the Montessori philosophy. After becoming a mother, I wanted my child to start his school life with this very same philosophy. I joined a Montessori school called One World Montessori School, while at the same time enrolling my son in the same school. My daughter later was also enrolled. As my children grew in a Montessori environment, my interest of the Montessori philosophy became stronger and I took my Primary training. I worked as a Primary and Infant/Toddler teacher for several years; I especially enjoyed this level since I loved watching each child grow in their own unique way.
In my free time, I enjoy cooking, listening to music, reading, sewing and knitting.
