We are very excited to announce that we have received two applications for the CAC Parent Representative position, namely Michelle Kiefer and Kimberly Owens. In order to allow adequate time for the voting process, we will hold the CAC election in August, when we return to school.
I am excited to begin my second year in the Golden Nugget classroom. I am pleased to be a part of such a dedicated team of educators at the California Montessori Project - Capitol Campus. Prior to CMP, I worked for the past nine years at Brighton Schools in Folsom, California. I taught 4th;5th grade, 2nd grade and 2°d /3rd grade classes. I have been in education for the past 20 years and have served as a classroom teacher, K-5th grade resource teacher, substitute teacher, tutor and instructional assistant in both the public and private sector.
I completed my 6-9 Montessori Credential in June 2016. Over the summer, I also attended Math, Writing and Grammar workshops given by Melanie Driskill. I continue to grow as an educator and truly have a love for learning. I will continue to share this with my students so that they will continue to grow and flourish as learners. I plan to complete coursework and complete my Masters’ degree in the Art of Teaching - Best Practices through National University, Sacramento. I hold a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, SB 2042 from National University. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Child Development from California State University, Sacramento and an Associate of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts from Sierra College in Rocklin. I completed extensive Montessori training during the summer and will continue my training throughout the school year.
I am a creative, passionate teacher that is dedicated to providing a safe learning environment that inspires all students to work hard, be life-long learners and achieve their goals. In my free-time I enjoy being out in nature - gardening, camping, hiking and kayaking. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy reading, creative writing and practicing yoga.
I look forward to a great school year and getting to know the families and students at California Montessori Project - Capitol Campus.
Ms. Teresa Bumagat -
Hello CMP Capitol Community! It is a pleasure returning for my 6th year with CMP as the Golden Nugget Teacher Assistant and Club M Staff. I was formerly a part of the Resource Team at the Capitol campus for 4 years and I am returning to the Golden Nugget Class with Ms. Cindi for my 2nd year. I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education Major in Special Education in 2011 from Angeles University Foundation in the Philippines. I also received my 6-9 Montessori Teaching Credential in 2015 from the Montessori Teaching Center in Shingle Springs, CA. In my spare time I like to spend it with family and friends, traveling, singing karaoke, attending concerts, and watching movies.
