We are very excited to announce that we have received two applications for the CAC Parent Representative position, namely Michelle Kiefer and Kimberly Owens. In order to allow adequate time for the voting process, we will hold the CAC election in August, when we return to school.
Hello Gray Whale families! My name is Elise Nelson and I am honored to be your child’s teacher. This is my second year working at CMP in the Gray Whale classroom and my third year as a teacher. I spent my first year teaching second grade at Northwood Elementary. I am thrilled to continue my journey as a Montessori teacher in the collaborative environment that CMP offers. I have been working with children in various capacities for over 9 years and I appreciate the joy and fulfillment that they bring into my life.
I spent this last school year working on Montessori training for lower elementary, where I came to appreciate and embrace the Montessori philosophy. I also further developed my ability to deliver engaging lessons in math, language arts, science, and art. I love the Montessori method of education because it focuses on nurturing the whole child. It is my goal to enable students to reach their full academic potential while fostering their development into confident, compassionate, and well-rounded children.
I grew up in the Napa Valley and am a fourth generation teacher. I completed my undergraduate studies at UC Davis. While in college, I worked with foster and homeless youth as a support mentor and tutor. I also volunteered for Meals on Wheels and Reading Partners. I graduated from the UC Davis Education program with my Elementary Teaching Credential in 2013. In my spare time, I enjoy practicing yoga, reading, and swimming.
I am very much looking forward to getting to know you and your child this school year. Thank you in advance for your support of the Gray Whale classroom community!
