Erin Martin

Teacher
Carmichael Campus

Erin grew up in the small gold rush town of Pine Grove, CA. She was a high school multi-sport athlete (soccer, basketball, track, & swimming), as well as a collegiate athlete in track & field (heptathlon, 400 hurdles, & pole vault). Interestingly, she was the first woman pole-vaulter at Chico State. Erin holds a BS from CSU, Chico, an MS from Utah State University, and an AMS Elementary I-II certification. Erin’s first career was as a wildland firefighter based in Northern California. This will be Erin’s 12th year teaching in a Montessori classroom. She was first introduced to the Montessori Method in 2005 while working as a teaching assistant in an early childhood (3-6 year old) classroom at Growing Light Montessori in Midway, Utah. During these four years, she attained her Elementary I certification. In 2009 she began working at Soaring Wings Montessori in Park City, UT. She began in the lower elementary class for the first year, attained her Elementary II certification, then built a successful Upper Elementary class before moving back to California in 2014 to be closer to her family. Once back in California, Erin worked in a mixed upper and lower elementary classroom at a local private Montessori school for a year before finding CMP. This is Erin’s third year teaching the Nautilus Upper Elementary class at CMP-Carmichael.
