Staff Profile

Emily has been teaching in the Montessori environment for the past two years. Her journey in finding The California Montessori Project and teaching started in 2012 after she received her Bachelor’s of Science in Recreation Park and Tourism Management from The Pennsylvania State University. While working in the recreation industry, Emily enjoyed working with families and children and creating a sense of community. After three years in recreation, making a transition to teaching was an easy decision. Emily moved to Colorado in 2015 to complete her Early Childhood Montessori Certificate, and fell in love with the Montessori philosophy. After accepting a position with CMP as a TK/K teacher assistant she moved to the Sacramento area.

Most recently, Emily is continuing her education and is working towards receiving her California Multiple Subject Credential from CalState Teach, and will be completing course work for her 6-9 Lower Elementary Montessori Certificate.

Emily enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling to the east coast to visit family, and spending time with her CMP community. She is looking forward to the new school year, and her new role at the Carmichael campus!
